Step-by-Step: Export Group Members to CSV
Step 1 — Install the Extension
Go to the Chrome Web Store and install Wapp Group Extractor. Once installed, click the puzzle piece icon in your Chrome toolbar and pin the extension so it's always visible.
Step 2 — Activate Your License
Click the extension icon. You will see the activation screen. Paste your license key (received by email after purchase) and click Activate. The main interface will unlock immediately.
Step 3 — Open WhatsApp Web
Navigate to web.whatsapp.com in Chrome and scan the QR code if prompted. Make sure you are fully logged in.
Step 4 — Open the Group Chat
Click on the WhatsApp group you want to export from the chat list on the left. The group conversation should be visible on the right side of the screen.
Step 5 — Click "Extract Members"
Click the Wapp Group Extractor icon in the toolbar to open the popup. Click the Extract Visible Members button. The extension will:

Each row in the exported CSV represents one group member and contains four columns:
- Name — the member's saved contact name, or their WhatsApp display name if not saved
- Phone Number — full international format including country code (e.g.,
+919876543210) - Group Name — the name of the WhatsApp group
- Export Date — the date the CSV was generated (YYYY-MM-DD format)
Members without a saved phone number (rare cases where WhatsApp hides it) will show N/A in the phone column.
Tips for Best Results
- Use a stable internet connection — the extraction opens Group Info which requires WhatsApp Web to load participant data
- Wait for the group to fully load before clicking Extract — give WhatsApp Web 2–3 seconds after opening the group
- Export multiple groups separately — each extraction replaces the previous data unless you export to CSV first
- Use "Clear Data" in the popup between groups to start fresh
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work for groups where I am not the admin?
Yes. You only need to be a member of the group, not an admin. WhatsApp Web loads the participant list for all members regardless of admin status.
Can it extract members from multiple groups at once?
Not simultaneously, but you can extract one group, export to CSV, clear the data, then switch to another group and repeat. Each export creates a separate CSV file.
Does this violate WhatsApp's Terms of Service?

What if some members show N/A for phone number?
