Method 1: Manual Copy on Your Phone
This is the most basic approach, and it becomes impractical for anything beyond very small groups.
- Open the group in the WhatsApp mobile app
- Tap the group name at the top to open Group Info
- Scroll through the participants list
- Tap each participant individually to see their phone number
- Manually write down or copy each number
⚠️ For a 100-member group, this takes 30–60 minutes and is extremely error-prone. Numbers are easy to mis-copy, and WhatsApp only shows numbers for contacts you haven't saved under a name.
Best for: Groups with fewer than 10 members where you need just a few numbers quickly.
Method 2: WhatsApp Web — Scroll & Note
WhatsApp Web (web.whatsapp.com) shows the same group info as the mobile app, with a larger screen. You can scroll through members and note numbers more easily than on mobile.
- Log in at

- Scroll down to the Members section
- Hover over each member — those without a saved contact name will show their number
- Copy numbers one by one into a spreadsheet
This is marginally faster than the phone method but has a critical limitation: WhatsApp Web lazy-loads participants. You must scroll all the way to the bottom to load all members, and even then you can only see numbers for unsaved contacts.
⚠️ Scrolling does not guarantee all members are loaded. WhatsApp Web may still miss participants in large groups due to rendering limits in the DOM.
Best for: Groups of 20–40 members where most are unsaved contacts and you have 15–20 minutes to spare.
Method 3: Chrome Extension (Automatic Extraction)

Which Method Should You Use?
If you have a one-time need to grab a handful of numbers from a small group, the manual method works fine. But if you regularly need contact data from WhatsApp groups — or your group has more than 20 members — the Chrome extension is the only practical option.
